Hello Everyone!
Welcome to June! I hope everyone had a great Memorial weekend. Mine was awesome. I spent time relaxing with the family. To top off the long weekend, we had a large cookout on Monday. I barbequed ribs the way my dad taught me many years ago. The rules are simple…Use a coal fire, cook the meat slow, and baste in beer—the ribs and the chef! And if possible, have a St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball game blaring on the radio. Grumpy D was famous for his ribs! I can’t help thinking about him when I make them. I just tell everyone my eyes are watering from the smoke.
Nothing says summer’s here quite like the sounds of kids running through the backyard and the smell of ribs simmering on the grill. I can tell you my grandbabies were wild Memorial Day. Fortunately for their momma’s sakes and anyone within shouting distance, a hard rain, followed by a swarm of blood-sucking Kamikaze Mosquitos, put a quick end to the outdoor fun and games. I packed up the leftovers to send home with the kids and sent them on their merry ways.
Hubby was asleep…oops, I mean he was resting his eyes, laid out flat on his back on the couch, remote control still in a death grip. I grabbed a book, snagged a glass of tea, and headed to the bath. I steeped in hot water and bubbles for a good hour. It takes a while—at least ten chapters—to soak smoke from skin and hair. That’s what I tell hubby anyway.
I’d like to welcome all of our new subscriber’s to the newsletter. I believe we doubled in size this month!

What I’m working on?
I started the first round of self-edits on The Eyes of Vengeance YIKES!. I think it’s more work to get the manuscript ready to send to the editor than to write it in the first place. I’m still hoping for a summer release. We’ll see what the editor says. Hopefully I’ll have a better idea of the release date soon.
